Wax currant

Wax currant is a deciduous, thornless shrub with a rounded shape.  It will grow 3-5 feet tall and wide.

The pink dangling flowers come out in early summer followed by smooth berries that are soft and juicy, with a mild, but unusual, fruity taste. The entire  plant is aromatic with a spicy scent.

Wax currant can grow in many types of soils and the berries are a favorite among birds.
