Redwood Keckiella
Redwood Keckiella is a small flowering sub-shrub formally called Penstemon corymbosa. It mounding shape grows 1-2 feet tall and wide.
This compact shrub packs on brick red tubular flowers through the summer months and into fall, providing a valuable final source of nectar for hummingbirds before heading south for the winter.
It is endemic to California, where it grows in the mountains of the central and northern California. It prefers well drained soils and is tolerant of deep shade.
