Bolander’s Golden Aster
Bolander’s Golden Aster is one of four subspecies of Heterotheca sessiflora, which is a spreading perennial herb that may be a small clumping or mat-forming plant, or it may grow tall stems up to 4 ft. or more in height. Its golden yellow blooms put on a show for most of the year, from spring through mid-winter. It can sometimes be semi-deciduous in winter when not in bloom.
In the coastal/woodland garden, this species makes a lovely ground cover and an excellent pollinator magnet!
