Joyce Coulter Ceanothus
Joyce Coulter Ceanothus is a prostrate evergreen shrub that makes a good low growing mound. It grows about 3-5 feet tall but will get about 8-12 feet wide. A few plants can cover a big area.
You can expect to see the lavender blue flowers appear in early spring from March to May.
It is fast growing, works well on slopes, and can be pruned to shape. It’s heat and drought tolerant, and likes full sun by the coast or part shade inland.
It is a natural hybrid of Ceanothus papillosus var. roweanus x Ceanothus impressus (possibly) and was introduced by the saratoga Horticultural Foundation in 1956.
