Joan Mirov Ceanothus
Joan Mirov ceanothus is an evergreen groundcover that grows to about 4′ tall and 10′ wide.
Rich dark blue flowers cover the shrub from March to May. Perfect for a large bank cover. A slope will aid its need for well drained soil.
Plant in light soil and protect from the hot afternoon sun. It grows well in coastal areas and will need some shade more inland.
It responds well to pruning and may be the most disease resistant ceanothus to date.
Cultivars such as this are horticultural selections and hybrids, they do not play a part in the native ecology but work beautifully in a garden.
