Foothill Sedge

Foothill Sedge is a wonderful meadow sedge that spreads slowly by rhizomes. It reaches only 6 – 12 inches tall and 2 feet wide. Its cream-colored flowers catch the light beautifully atop its bright green stalks in the spring and summer.

It is tolerant of seasonal dryness thanks to its semi-deciduous adaptation in the summer.

This is a great choice for a deer-resistant ground cover in spaces between trees or chaparral shrubs, or can be grown in containers quite easily.
