Common Goldenstar
Common Goldenstar is a perennial herb and a geophyte (a plant with an underground storage organ that allows them to survive unfavorable weather conditions) that grows only 1 ft. tall.
Its six-petaled golden yellow flowers for which it is named are clustered in loose umbels that bloom April – June.
In the garden, this species prefers full sun to part shade with low moisture, and is very adaptable to a variety of soil types. Great for butterfly gardens and pairs well with a variety of drought tolerant natives!
