 Coastal Mugwort

Native to the bluffs and rocky beaches of coastal California, this rhizomatous perennial herb grows from 1.5″ – 3″ tall and spreads to form a thick stand.

The plant forms dense clusters of yellow-green flowers which bloom in the summer. The fragrant foliage has a silvery felted appearance.

Cut to the ground annually for fresh spring regrowth.

Ecological Value

Artemisia species are used as food plants by the larvae of a number of butterfly species.
