‘Ella Nelson’s Yellow’ Buckwheat

This cultivar of the naked buckwheat was selected by Eric, the loving grandson of Ella Nelson, whom he named this bright buckwheat after.

This selection is packed with beautiful puffs of yellow flowers that appear in the late spring.

It does best in well drained soils in full sun, as it is drought tolerant once established.

As with all buckwheats, they are are highly attractive to nectar feeding insects and are deer resistant!

(*Since we grow our plants from seed rather than cuttings, like the other cultivars we carry, these are subject to genetic variation and therefore are not the true cultivar.)
