Woodland Madia

Woodland Madia is an herbaceous perennial in the aster family that grows in forest and woodland environments.

Woodland Madia forms low-growing clumps up to 2.5 ft. tall with dark green leaves covered in little hairs. It has bright yellow, daisy-like flowers that bloom from spring to summer.

In the garden, Woodland Madia grows well in dry shade with companion plants like CA honeysuckle, woodland strawberry, and Milk Maids. It self-sows, but not very aggressively. Cut back dead stalks in the fall after setting seed if desired.
