Yellow Penstemon
Yellow penstemon (formerly named Penstemon antirrhinoides) is a medium sized flowering shrub that grows from 1 1/2 – 6 feet tall and 2-4 feet wide. It has a rounded form and a moderate growth rate. It will do best with some drainage.
Because of it’s adaptations to native area expect it to go late summer deciduous.
The pleasantly fragrance and abundant yellow to red tinged glowers appear in the spring and will last for about 2 months.
The flower are a delight for humming birds, Checkerspot butterflies and bees.
